Best Granola

Save yourself a fortune & start the day with an energy packed bowl of delicious crunchy granola. Add a dollop of Greek yoghurt & any combination of fresh or frozen fruit. Provide perfect snacking food as well!


500g jumbo oats
100g each pumpkin seeds
100g sunflower seeds
150g flaked coconut
200g nuts – any combination of pecan, walnut, almond, hazelnut
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon salt
150ml honey
150ml rapeseed oil
3 tablespoons maple, rice or agave syrup
100g any dried fruit (optional)
50g cacao nibs (optional)

Preheat oven at 180°C

Put all the dry ingredients in a large bowl. Mix the wet ingredients in another and pour onto the dry mixture, combining well.

Spread the mixture onto a large baking tray lined with parchment paper. Place in oven for 10 minutes. Take out and mix everything well. Return to oven and repeat again (total baking time 30 minutes or more if you like it a darker brown and more crunchy).

Cool completely, mix well again to break up any lumps. Add the dried fruit or cacao nibs if using. Store in an air tight container.
